(guitarist)
Early endeavors revisited years later can sometimes be embarrasing. Nevertheless, you were there; you helped create it. We all started somewhere. It wasn't legendary. It was experience.
Flight Nineteen was a loud, obnoxious, energetic, hardcore band. Sweet riffs in drop d tuning vibrated amongst the wailing of our bespectacled singer Miles Harvey.
We played a lot of weekend shows around town in various clubs. When we began playing shows, we were young, too young to drive. Thanks to our sixteen year old friends and parents, we were able to haul equipment from venue to venue.
Drew Sellers, the other guitarist, was the brains behind the outfit. He crafted the song structures and main melodies which the other members then interpreted and tweaked.
Our only recording was a four song self-titled record that was released on 7" vinyl. They're out there somewhere. The record label had no distribution so if you own one, consider yourself lucky.
It was at a time when things were innocent and hysterical. Our drummer Thommy Northcut and I would skateboard all day and then play music. The band was somewhat coincdental. Before we all played music together, we were great friends. It just so happened that we could play instruments too.
